Adrian Pressley
Believe what you hear! Recording artist Adrian Pressley is a "genius of vocal colors." He has galvanized audiences with his rich bass voice all over the world. Adrian says, "I strongly believe the Lord is using me with music; I have experienced the Lord's using me through song where the spoken word may not have been readily received." His debut CD, Songs of the Deep Soul (Hymns and Spirituals), articulates this.
Indeed the Lord has been using Adrian's voice for a long time. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he sang at a very early age in church. Since graduating from Andrews University in Michigan, he has soared musically. As a member of the internationally known gospel group Harvest Celebration, he toured the gospel circuit extensively throughout North America and parts of Africa and Europe. He has appeared on media programs such as Pat Robertson's 700 Club.
One of the soul-stirring moments in Adrian's career came in 1991. From 1991-1994 he sant with the world renown Harlem Spiritual Ensemble, a group dedicated to the preservation and presentation of American Negro Spirituals arguably America's first classical music. During his tenure with the group, he traveled the globe performing in countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, Nigeria and Botswana.
Out of this experience came Adrian's heart-rending desire to further authenticate American Negro Spirituals. He is consumed with a passion to preserve the originality of the spirituals, yet he adds a contemporary flair to these songs. Adrian says, "I want to continue to give voice to this important American musical Tradition. I want each person who hears this music to experience the deep soul-stirring lyrics and melodies that enabled African American to triumph. I want the souls of all folk to be lifted."
Believe it! When you hear Adrian Pressley, Songs of the Deep Soul, you will be inspired.
