Adrian Westney, Jr.

Adrian T. Westney, Jr., the first son of doctors Adrian and Lizette Westney, was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He is married to the former Lataynia Clay and they reside in a suburb of Baltimore, Maryland. His education includes study and degrees in mathematics, music, and computers. Before entering full-time music ministry, Adrian was a mathematics teacher. It was while assisting evangelist Charles D. Brooks (the speaker and director for the Breath of Life television program) during a campaign in Washington, D.C., that he felt God calling him to full-time music ministry, which he has been engaged in since 1983.

Adrian is currently the owner and executive director of Westney Productions, a company specializing in the production of Christian music and providing media support for Christian ministries. In addition, he is the music director for the Breath of Life telecast, director of the Breath of Life Quartet, and is one of the quartet's vocalists. Adrian is also host of "Reflections," a weekly, two hour radio program featuring contemporary Christian music which airs on WGTS-FM in the Washington, D.C. area.

Affectionately known to his friends as "A.T.," Adrian possesses musical skills that range form orchestral arrangement and composition to piano, from quartet and choral music to electronic music synthesis and MIDI/computer music technology. Adrian has arranged and produced music for and has been associated with outstanding Christian music entities such as Ralph Carmichael, Walter Arties, Wintley Phipps, Daniel Winans, Myrna Mathews Haynes, Shelton Kilby, the Hawkins family, the Oakwood College Choir, Aeolians, and many others.

Adrian loves to travel, and music has taken him around the world including countries in the Far East, Europe, Africa, Australia, the South Pacific, the islands of the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and most of North America. One of many career highlights for Adrian includes touring with a team of musicians headed by Jesse Jackson who gave a special series of musical presentations in Rome, Italy and the Vatican. He played for and met Pope John Paul II, and the president of Italy.

Most of all, Adrian wishes that the music he writes, arranges, performs, and produces will glorify God and allow the hearer to sense the warmth and comfort of the all-encompassing love of Jesus Christ.
