And Athena's gratitude resonates through every word of praise she writes and sings. Born in 1981 and raised in a small town on California's Central coast, Athena Denise Sorensen began "paying her dues" as an artist at an early age, performing in church, at school and in community events. Later, she sang at high school graduations, won a singing contest on the radio, performed the national anthem at a celebrity basketball game, and sang on the Christian television show "God's Love" when her family moved to Hawaii.
