Chris Rucker
Chris Rucker is the co-author of Random House Publisher's successful diet and lifestyle book, The Seventh-Day Diet. It is a book about "How the Healthiest People in America Live Better, Longer, and Slimmer, and How You Can Too!" Chris is also the author of Fat Busters, a low fat guide to good eating filled with luscious and delectable, yet fat trimming recipes. Desiring to meet the challenge of obesity in our communities, Chris developed Fat Busters' Lean Team, a lifestyle management program designed to reduce obesity and the risk of degenerative disease. This program has impacted the lives of thousand throughout the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean, culminating in the publishing of Chris' Fat Buster Lean Team Case Study, demonstrating that individuals can lose up to 57 pounds in 3 months through this effective lifestyle approach.
Chris is a health educator who has been teaching the benefits of healthful living for more than twenty-five years to individuals and organizations. She has directed community health education services and has consulted for community and teaching hospitals. Chris is the founder of Abundant Life Ministries, a wellness ministry that conducts lifestyle management seminars on smoking cessation, weight, nutrition, exercise, and stress management.
During the 1970's, Chris developed serious chronic degenerative and autoimmune diseases. As a result of her own spiritual renewal and physical healing, she developed HealthQuest Church Wellness, a lay health education training program that teaches lay people how to minister as lay wellness educators in their church communities. She has shared this ministry in seminars across America in all denominations. As a result of her efforts to increase wellness awareness in the community, Chris has been awarded honors by the American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, the City Council of Baltimore, The Senate of Maryland, and Operation ReachBack for commitment and service to humanity.
A frequent guest speaker for churches, businesses, hospitals, conferences, community groups, and public health agencies, she has led cooking classes and seminars throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, the Caribbean, and Bermuda, and promotes healthy lifestyle habits on television and radio. Chris is married to a healthcare administrator and has three children.
Chris' deepest desire is to share the priceless health heritage God left for His people energizing them with those eternal truths that Scripture says are "life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh."
