Dragoslava Santrac, Ph.D., is a managing editor of the SDA Encyclopedia, an adjunct professor of religion and Old Testament at Washington Adventist University, and an associate professor of the Old Testament and biblical languages. She completed her BA in Theology at Belgrade Theological Seminary, Serbia (affiliation with Griggs University, USA) in 1997 (summa cum laude), Master of Arts in Religion in biblical languages at Andrews University, USA (1999), and the doctorate in the Old Testament studies from Greenwich School of Theology, UK (affiliation with North-West University, South Africa) (2013). Her dissertation entitled Sanctuary Cult in Relation to Religious Piety in the Book of Psalms was published by Lambert Academic Publishing (2013).
Dr. Santrac is the author of three books (including her published dissertation) and several peer-reviewed articles. She also presented at several academic theological conferences. Dr. Santrac is a recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award at the University of the Southern Caribbean (2012) and the Award of the American Biblical Society for her excellence in Master's studies (1999). She is also a member of the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi academic society.
Among many administrative and editorial responsibilities, she was an editor of Theofil (theological magazine) and Health and Life (magazine for health) (1999-2006) for the South-East European Union of SDA, as well as registrar of the Belgrade Theological Seminary (1999-2006) and academic advisor for freshmen at the University of the Southern Caribbean (2012-2014).
She is an ordained elder and is very actively involved in children’s ministry. Dr. Santrac enjoys walking, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
