Esmie G. Branner

Esmie Branner was born in Jamaica, West Indies, and raised in an Adventist home in Gloucester, England. Esmie is a graduate of Andrews University with a master's degree in clinical social work. Her compelling story of faith and domestic persecution is placing her in demand as a speaker to church, college, and women's retreats audiences. Esmie has also appeared in "Most Notable Adventist Women."

"Theory must become practical in order for truth to be anchored in the soul," Esmie says. "God's Word is powerful when faith is lived out." And she should know. Esmie recalls when a simple denunciation of her faith could have gotten her sons back. "My sons were gone, the Imams visited me to convince me to denounce my faith. They said I could have my sons back if I spoke the words that would pronounce me a Muslim. The temptation was great; I bargained with the Lord. With firmness I trusted in God's Word."

Today, Esmie is a mental health/drug and alcohol counselor for the Sacramento County Drug and Alcohol Bureau. She is married to Pastor Arthur Richard Branner II, and together they are raising three sons and two daughters. Esmie's favorite motto is "Keep your eyes on the prize, and let no one steal your joy."
