Gwendolyn Lampshire Hayden was a gifted musician and taught at the University of Oregon and at two Seventh-day Adventist colleges: Walla Walla and Union. She is best known, however, for writing the Really-Truly Stories for children, a 10-volume series, now combined and available in five volumes. She lived in Eugene, Oregon, while writing these books and lived there until her death in 1972.
