H. M. S. Richards, Sr.

Harold Marshall Sylvester Richards (1894 -1985), third-generation preacher, founded the Voice of Prophecy radio broadcast. His ministry inspired broadcasts in 36 languages on more than 1,100 stations, and Bible courses in 80 languages offered by 144 correspondence schools. He was awarded the Honor Citation of the National Religious Broadcasters organization in both 1967 and 1970. Dr. Richards loved great literature. The walls of his study were lined with books from floor to ceiling. His spirit-filled preaching was much in demand at camp meetings and other large gatherings throughout the world. He fathered four children and authored a number of books. His own life story is told in a book by his daughter (H.M.S. Richards: Man Alive!) and in H.M.S. Richards, by Robert E. Edwards.
