Kim Johnson was raised on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He became a Seventh-day Adventist while attending engineering school in Boston and then changed colleges and majors to become a theology student at Atlantic Union College. After earning a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Seminary, he pastored for ten years in Massachusetts and Maine. His career took another turn in 1984 when he attended accounting classes at the University of Southern Maine School of Business and became associate treasurer of the Northern New England Conference.
Kim’s wife, Ann, came to the United States from Yugoslavia at the age of sixteen, moving from a small island in the Adriatic Sea to downtown Queens in New York City! Kim and Ann met at college and have been married for twenty-nine years. Their daughter, Stefanie, graduated from Columbia Union College as an English major and is currently working at the Adventist college, Villa Aurora, in Florence, Italy.
Kim enjoys writing, traveling with his family, reading, laughing and crying with his small group, attending concerts by great musicians, and being involved in the arts in general. His first book, The Gift, became a best-seller and has touched hearts all over the globe. His follow-up book, The Morning, explores the wonder of Christ’s resurrection and unfolds its vital meaning for our lives today.
He says, "I feel passionately about pointing people to God’s amazing, unconditional love. Our primary purpose as Christians and as a church is to free people from the life-sapping lies and distortions of the devil by revealing the truth about the character of God."
