Mayara Lustosa is a scientist. She studied biology as an undergrad and did a master's and a doctorate in cellular biology at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) in São Paulo, Brazil. She is working on her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Valencia in Valencia, Spain. Being a scientist has always been her dream.

Dr. Lustosa is married to Rodrigo Barbosa, and they share one child, Benicio.
