Rachel is married to a professional tailor and fashion designer, and together they have four mostly grown children. She has a B.S. degree in Language Arts: Secondary Education from Oakwood University (1990), a M.A. degree in English: Professional Writing from the University of Cincinnati (1996), and a Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University (2007). She is currently graduate program director and associate professor in the department of communication at Andrews University.
