Roland Gresham
Gospel recording artist Roland Gresham is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. At the age of 3, he received his first guitar from his father, who also plays guitar. Although it was only a toy, Roland "played" it constantly. Other than being shown a few basic chords, at the age of 6, by his father, Roland has received no formal training, nor can he read music. During his school age years, Roland began playing the local club circuit throughout Tennessee and surrounding southern states. His talent gained him entrance to many places his tender age could not. At the age of 15, he dedicated his gift to Christ and entered the full service of ministering with his musical talent.
Roland went on to become a licensed electrician. Even though he worked his profession for ten years, music continued to play an important part in his life. He found himself playing at local churches on weekends. As his popularity increased, so did his engagements. He began traveling across the United States. In 1985, he devoted his full time to music. He has since traveled throughout North America, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. He performs in small, storefront churches and before large overflowing crowds. Roland has performed as a special musical guest and in concert at such churches as St. Luke Community United Methodist in Dallas, Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston, New Shiloh Baptist Church in Baltimore, the Devonshire SDA Church in Bermuda, among many others. He has also performed on recordings and in concert with such artists as Take 6, Darryl Coley, Helen Baylor, Little Richard, Bobby Jones, Edwin Hawkins, and others.
Roland plays music that "touches the soul." His musical style is fluid and engaging. His most recent recordings demonstrate his versatility and range.
