Terry Schwartz spent his life chasing the American dream. He worked hard but eventually realized the trappings of success did not deliver what they had promised. Soon the mission trips he took as a volunteer with Maranatha International began to take on new meaning. They became more than just building projects. Terry saw opportunities open up for him to begin building people – to minister to hurting hearts, troubled teens, and the outcasts of society. After receiving his cancer diagnosis, Terry says, “The moment I realized I was dying became bittersweet, because it was also the moment when I really began to live.”
