Timothy Joseph Golden
Timothy Joseph Golden, Ph.D. is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Pre-Law Program at Walla Walla University. He is a graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, where he earned his J.D. He has also graduated from the University of Memphis, where he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy. His areas of philosophical research are philosophical theology, nineteenth and twentieth century continental philosophy, and African-American philosophy. He is a member of the Pennsylvania bar, and is also an appellate attorney on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, where he represents indigent criminal defendants who appeal their convictions and sentences. Dr. Golden has served the SDA church as an ordained elder, Sabbath School teacher, and as director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty in several SDA churches. He and Dr. LaVerda Golden, his wife of nineteen years, live in the Walla Walla, Washington area.
