Description / Tough Times and Tender Hearts
The town of Sandia in the Sandia Valley had been almost completely devastated by flood and the mission family had to leave. The young Larsens were asked to move from Umuchi Mission on Lake Titicaca to take over the mission work in flood stricken Sandia. This is the story of their move.
Modern missions are what they are today because of the courage and dedication of pioneer missionaries like Bent and Anna Larsen who braved travel over tortuous, high-mountain passes, through turbulent rivers on reed boats or on the backs of Indians, over crude, rickety bridges, or on narrow, twisting trails to bring the gospel message to the people of South America, especially the Incas of Peru.
