Pastor Warren often studied the map of China and the territory lying to the South where there was not one Seventh-day Adventist minister to over 100,000 inhabitants. This story recounts the adventures of Merritt and Wilma Warren, missionaries to China, one hundred years ago.

Description / Light the Paper Lantern

Pastor Warren often studied the map of China and the territory lying to the South of Chungking, where hundreds of villages and many great cities, some with 100,000 inhabitants or more, dotted the provinces of Kweichow and Yunnan. The young missionary always turned away from the map with a sigh, for not one Seventh-day Adventist ministered in all that territory. But in the spring of 1918, Pastor Warren decided to make the long journey himself.

Light the Paper Lantern recounts the adventures of Merritt and Wilma Warren, missionaries to China, one hundred years ago.
