Description / Lure of India
Mark Twain once said that India was the land that all men longed to see and that they, having seen it by so much as a glimpse, would not trade that glimpse for all the other sights of the world.
Lure of India is the story of missionaries Joe and Judy Gardner. In the early part of the 1900s, they left father and mother, home and country, to serve as teachers and missionaries at a mission school in India. The small village of Kottarakara became their home for seven years.
This book was written in appreciation of a lovable, patient, hospitable people who accepted Joe and Judy’s queer foreign ways into their midst for more than ten years.
