Description / The Marked Bible

When Harold Wilson found a Bible hidden away in his sailor's chest, he flung the book over the ship's railing and into the sea. Harold would have nothing to do with the Bible his mother had so lovingly marked in hopes that he would read its pages and turn from his life of crime and vice. But like Jonah, the runaway prophet, Harold couldn't run from God, no matter how hard he tried.

The classic story of a mother's love, a rebellious son, and the transforming power of God's Word. With the drama of a trans-Pacific Ocean voyage as a backdrop, the "marked Bible" takes center stage in the lives of Harold and his traveling companions as a strange preacher begins to reveal a forgotten truth from its pages. The entire ship is in an uproar, and soon lives will be changed forever.

An electrifying story of what can happen when sincere hearts pursue God's truth, no matter the cost.

Wonderful and easy read

Great explanation of our belief in following God's Sabbath. Because it is a story, rather than simply an informational book, it is easy to read and keeps you engaged, yet still covers all the points of reference for our conviction, as well as responses to objections and questions from those who follow mans choice to observe Sunday.

The right words at the right time, never fail the Spirit
Review by
I received this book working an evangelistic series a year ago. I perused the back and put it aside as I do much literature intending to read it later. 8 months later i discovered it in my things and began to read. I started slowly and found myself unable to put it down sharing the concept with my own Young Adult Sabbath School members. Once again, I put it aside just 3 chapters shy of the end. Determined to finish the little book I picked it up wrapping up the story with a perfect bow and solidifying my own stance on my devotion to my Savior with a new understanding and openness to others views. It is a wonderful way to not only explain why being a "Sabbatarian" is my choice but also explains the history of why some true Sunday keepers sometimes feel an unknown discomfort with their chosen path.

In anger he throws the Bible into the sea.Mom continues to pray and shortly thereafter mom dies. But God heard her prayers and his Holy Spirit works on the young man's heart.A bible marked identical to his mothers shows up. The ship is transporting a lot of Missionaries. The young man is willing converted and his mother's prayers are answered. Parents may die, But God does not and his holy spirit never stops working.
