The Other Side of the Boat
Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. (John 21:4-6) Sometimes we become so accustomed to where we live, what we do, the lives we live, that we fail to see what God is doing on “the other side.” When we step out of our comfort zones, when we experience life from another angle, we begin to see a bigger picture of God and His actions in this world. The Other Side of the Boat is the devotional journal of military chaplain’s wife who accompanied her husband to faraway places around the world during his 30-year army career. Each stop became an opportunity to see how God was leading her family and to witness how God is touching the world in beautiful and unexpected ways. Each story offers not only encouragement and hope. But inspiration for each of us to see the surprising things God is doing on “The other side” of our yard, our church, and our lives.
I loved the book and especially liked the part when Nancy was in Japan and was almost convicted of a crime but was saved yet another time by her guardian angel and Japanese taxi driver.

Personable sharing of God's woderful life lessons in all our moments
Review byMrsKoz
I've known the author since 1977 and have still discovered wonderful new aspects concerning this child of God. She has the knack of being able to take ordinary events and add that God breathed perspective of what was going on. Her humor reigns supreme in these little excerpts from her life, but even more so, her perception of what God was helping her enjoy or helping her learn comes through in such a way that the reader easily identifies with what she has shared. This book is one I share with people at the hospice where I volunteer because it lifts their spirits and usually brings a smile to their faces. Well worth having for a rrefreshing time of seeing how onee believer has seen God from all sorts or perspectives, including the other side of the boat.
